CD Anguiano

History

Club Deportivo Anguiano was established in 1993 in the small town of Anguiano, La Rioja. The club began its journey in the regional divisions of La Rioja, slowly working its way up the football pyramid.

After several seasons in the lower regional leagues, CD Anguiano achieved promotion to the Tercera División (which was then the fourth tier) for the first time in its history at the end of the 2004–05 season. This marked a significant milestone for the modest club, allowing it to compete at a national level for the first time.

Since their initial promotion, CD Anguiano has largely maintained its status in the Tercera División (now Tercera Federación following league restructuring), becoming a stable fixture in Group 16 alongside other clubs from La Rioja. The club has experienced periods of both strong performance, challenging for playoff spots, and times when they have had to fight to avoid relegation, showcasing their resilience within the semi-professional setup.

A notable achievement for the club has been its participation in the Copa del Rey, Spain's premier domestic cup competition, on several occasions, facing professional teams and gaining valuable national exposure.

Stadium

CD Anguiano plays its home matches at the Estadio Isla, located in Anguiano. The stadium is a modest facility, typical of clubs at this level, with a capacity for approximately 1,000 spectators. It features a natural grass pitch and basic amenities for both players and fans. The intimate atmosphere of the Estadio Isla is a characteristic feature of the club's home games.
