C.D. Clan Juvenil (full name: Club Deportivo Clan Juvenil) is an Ecuadorian professional football club based in Sangolquí, Pichincha Province. The club is primarily known for its brief stints in the top tiers of Ecuadorian football, particularly during the mid-2010s.
History
C.D. Clan Juvenil was founded on March 23, 1993, in Sangolquí, a city located in the Metropolitan District of Quito. For much of its early history, the club competed in the regional and lower professional leagues of Ecuador.The club began its ascent through the Ecuadorian football system in the 2010s. In 2015, Clan Juvenil achieved promotion from the Segunda Categoría (third tier) to the Serie B (second tier) for the first time in its history. Their stay in Serie B was short but impactful. In the 2016 season, against expectations, the club secured a dramatic promotion to the Ecuadorian Serie A, the highest level of professional football in the country. This marked a significant milestone for the modest club from Sangolquí.
Clan Juvenil competed in Serie A during the 2017 season. Despite their spirited efforts, the club struggled to maintain its position among the country's elite, eventually finishing at the bottom of the league table and suffering immediate relegation back to Serie B. Their financial situation also became increasingly challenging during this period, leading to player disputes and administrative difficulties.
Following their relegation from Serie A, Clan Juvenil continued to face financial and administrative instability, which impacted their performance and league status in subsequent seasons. The club experienced further relegations, dropping back to lower divisions.
