Buzz Factory

Buzz Factory is a term with multiple established meanings, most notably as a music album and as a business name for marketing agencies.

1. Music Album

Buzz Factory is the fourth studio album by the Seattle-based rock band Screaming Trees, released on April 19, 1989, through SST Records (catalog number SST 248). It was the band's final release on SST before they moved to a major label. The album was recorded in December 1988 at Reciprocal Recording in Seattle, Washington, and was produced by Jack Endino. It spans genres including psychedelic rock, garage rock, and grunge, with a total length of 39 minutes and 23 seconds.

The album was available on translucent purple vinyl. During the tour supporting the album, SST Records repeatedly informed the band that the album would be released shortly, but it did not materialize until the last day of the tour. This led the band to leave SST and release their next recording, the Change Has Come EP, on Sub Pop in December 1989.

The Chicago Tribune described the album as taking "psychedelic garage-rock into the '90s, cranking up the wah-wah pedal to stun volume and riding a torrent of percussion." The Spin Alternative Record Guide rated the album 6 out of 10.
