Bruce Campbell

Bruce Campbell (born August 22, 1958) is an American actor, producer, director, and writer best known for his collaborations with filmmaker Sam Raimi and for portraying the character Ash Williams in the Evil Dead franchise. His career spans film, television, and voice acting, and he has become a cult figure within the horror and comedy genres.

Early Life and Education
Bruce Laurence Campbell was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, United States. He attended the University of Southern California (USC), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater and film. While at USC, he met Sam Raimi, leading to a professional partnership that would define much of his early career.

Film Career
Campbell’s breakout role came in 1981 with Raimi’s low‑budget horror film The Evil Dead (later retitled The Evil Dead). He reprised the role of Ash Williams in its sequel Evil Dead II (1987) and the 1992 comedy‑horror hybrid Army of Darkness. The character was later reimagined for the 2013 remake Evil Dead and the television series Ash vs. Evil Dead (2015–2018), where Campbell starred as a now‑aged Ash.
