Brora is a Scottish luxury fashion brand that specialises in cashmere and other high‑quality knitwear. The company was founded in March 1993 by Victoria Stapleton, who serves as its owner and creative director. Stapleton’s family involvement with the historic Hunters of Brora, a tweed mill established in the early 19th century in the village of Brora in north‑eastern Scotland, informed the brand’s emphasis on traditional Scottish textiles such as cashmere, wool, tweed and mohair.
The brand’s product range includes women’s and men’s apparel—most notably cashmere sweaters, scarves, coats, and accessories—as well as a selection of home textiles. Brora promotes domestic manufacturing; all of its cashmere is produced in a mill located in the Scottish Borders, and many other garments are made in the United Kingdom.
By 2018 Brora operated fourteen retail stores across the United Kingdom and a flagship location on Madison Avenue in New York City. Its stores are positioned in upscale shopping districts, and the brand is also sold through its e‑commerce platform and selected department‑store concessions.
Brora markets itself as a heritage‑driven brand that combines classic Scottish craftsmanship with contemporary design. The company has pursued sustainability initiatives, including the use of natural and organic fibres where possible and a focus on traceable supply chains.
