Brittany Lynne Mahomes (née Matthews; born August 25, 1995) is an American former professional soccer player, entrepreneur, and co-owner of the Kansas City Current of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She is widely known as the wife of National Football League (NFL) quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Early Life and Education
Brittany Matthews was born on August 25, 1995, in Tyler, Texas. She attended Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas, where she was a multi-sport athlete, excelling in soccer. After high school, she attended the University of Texas at Tyler, where she continued her soccer career as a forward. During her collegiate career, she set several records for the Patriots, including most goals in a single season and career. She earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
Athletic Career
After graduating from college, Mahomes pursued a professional soccer career. In May 2017, she signed with UMF Afturelding, a professional soccer club in Iceland. She played one season with the team before returning to the United States.
Business Ventures and Media Presence
Following her professional soccer career, Mahomes transitioned into entrepreneurship and fitness. She founded "Brittany Lynne Fitness," an online fitness company offering workout programs and health advice.
In December 2020, Mahomes became a co-owner of the Kansas City Current, a professional women's soccer team in the NWSL. Her involvement with the team has been instrumental in its growth, including the development of the first purpose-built stadium for a professional women's sports team in the United States, CPKC Stadium.
