Brian Ashby (born c. 1930s) is a New Zealand former motor racing driver active primarily during the 1960s and early 1970s. He is most notable for his participation in the Tasman Series, an international motor racing championship held annually in Australia and New Zealand.
Ashby was a regular competitor in the Tasman Series during its golden era, racing against both local heroes and international Formula One stars who traveled to Australasia during the European winter break. He often competed in single-seater categories, driving various chassis, including Brabham and Lola models, typically powered by Coventry Climax or Ford Cosworth engines.
While not achieving overall championship victories, Ashby was a consistent and respected privateer entry, often finishing in the points-paying positions in competitive fields. His participation helped to populate the grids and enrich the local motorsport scene during a significant period for motor racing in New Zealand.
Beyond the Tasman Series, Ashby also competed in various national and regional motor racing events within New Zealand and Australia throughout his career.
