Brett Deacon

Playing Career

Deacon began his professional career with [[Leicester Tigers]], making his debut in 2001. He was known for his physicality and strong defensive work. He had two separate spells with Leicester, contributing to multiple [[Premiership Rugby|Premiership]] titles.

  • Leicester Tigers (2001–2006, 2008–2012): During his time with the Tigers, he played over 100 senior games. He was part of the squads that won the Premiership in 2009 and 2010, and the [[Anglo-Welsh Cup]] in 2012.
  • Gloucester Rugby (2006–2008): He moved to Gloucester for two seasons between his spells at Leicester, playing regularly for the West Country club.
  • Sale Sharks (2011): Deacon also had a brief loan spell with Sale Sharks towards the end of his playing career.
  • International Representation: He represented [[England Saxons]], the national second-tier team, on multiple occasions.

Coaching Career

Following his retirement from playing in 2012, Deacon transitioned into coaching, primarily with his former club, Leicester Tigers.

  • Leicester Tigers (2012–present): He initially worked within the club's academy and development squads, before progressing to a senior coaching role. He served as Defence Coach for the first team.
  • England U20s: Deacon has also held assistant coaching roles with the [[England national rugby union team|England]] U20s side, helping to develop the next generation of international players.
