Brendan McElholm

Brendan McElholm is a former [[Gaelic football]]er who played for the [[Derry GAA]] senior inter-county team and his club, [[Steelstown Brian Ógs]]. He is best known for being a key member of the Derry team that won the [[All-Ireland Senior Football Championship]] in [[1993 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship|1993]].

Playing Career

Club

McElholm played his club football for Steelstown Brian Ógs, a club based in [[Derry (city)|Derry City]], [[Northern Ireland]]. He was a prominent player for his club throughout his career.

Inter-county

McElholm represented [[Derry GAA]] at senior inter-county level. He was primarily known as a half-back. His most significant achievement came in 1993 when he played a crucial role in Derry's historic [[All-Ireland Senior Football Championship|All-Ireland Senior Football Championship]] triumph, their first and only such title to date. Derry defeated [[Cork GAA|Cork]] in the final to claim the [[Sam Maguire Cup]]. He was also part of Derry's [[Ulster Senior Football Championship]] winning team in the same year.
