Brad Lambert (American football)

Brad Lambert (born November 25, 1964) is an American football coach. He is currently the defensive coordinator at Marshall University.

Lambert has an extensive coaching career spanning multiple universities and high schools. He has served as a head coach, defensive coordinator, and linebackers coach.

Coaching Career:

Lambert's coaching career began at Midwest City High School in Oklahoma. He then moved to college coaching, with positions including:

  • Oklahoma: Graduate Assistant (1988-1989)
  • Marshall: Linebackers Coach (1990-1995), Defensive Coordinator (1996-2000)
  • Bowling Green: Defensive Coordinator (2001-2002)
  • Georgia: Linebackers Coach (2005-2009)
  • Wake Forest: Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers Coach (2010)
  • Charlotte: Head Coach (2011-2018) - He was the inaugural head football coach for the Charlotte 49ers, leading the program from its inception through its transition to FBS football.
  • Marshall: Defensive Coordinator (2019)
  • Purdue: Co-Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers Coach (2021-2022)
  • Marshall: Defensive Coordinator (2023-Present)

Lambert's experience includes coaching at programs with significant success, and he has been recognized for his work developing defensive players. He is known for his defensive schemes and his ability to build a program, as demonstrated during his tenure at Charlotte.
