Boukhalfa is a locality and district situated in the Tizi Ouzou Province of northern Algeria. It is located approximately 5 kilometers west of the city center of Tizi Ouzou and functions as a significant residential, educational, and infrastructural hub within the Greater Kabylie region.
Geography and Infrastructure Boukhalfa is positioned along major transport routes connecting the city of Tizi Ouzou to the western parts of the province and the national capital, Algiers. It is served by the Boukhalfa railway station, a stop on the Thenia–Tizi Ouzou–Oued Aïssi line operated by the National Company for Rail Transport (SNTF). Notable Landmarks The district is the site of the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium, a major sports complex with a capacity of approximately 50,000 spectators. Construction of the stadium was a significant state-funded project intended to provide a modern home ground for the local football club, JS Kabylie. Because of its location, the facility was frequently referred to as the "Boukhalfa Stadium" during its planning and construction phases.
