Boldizsár Csiky (born October 3, 1937) is a Romanian composer of Hungarian ethnicity. He was born in Târgu Mureș, Romania, and began his musical studies at the Târgu Music School (1954–1955) before continuing at the Gheorghe Dima Conservatory in Cluj (1955–1961).
Career
After completing his studies, Csiky worked as a professor of chamber music at the Music School in Târgu Mureș from 1961 to 1970. From 1961 until 1990, he served as the artistic secretary of the Târgu Mureș State Philharmonic. He later became the director of the Târgu Mureș Symphony Hall (Târgu Mureș State Philharmonic) from 1990 to 1997, and served as an advisor from 1997 to 2000. Between 2006 and 2013, he was active at the Târgu Mureș Philharmonic in an advisory capacity.
Csiky is recognized as a committed representative of Hungarian composition in Romania. His works have been performed in numerous European countries, as well as in Japan and the United States. He composed across a variety of musical genres.

Personal life
His son, Boldizsár Csiky Jr. (born November 25, 1968, in Reghin), is also a musician and pianist.
Legacy
A monograph titled Boldizsár Csíky was published as part of the "Hungarian Composers" series (Volume 25) by the Budapest Music Center, presenting him as a significant Transylvanian composer whose work helped the Hungarian compositional tradition in Romania develop an individual identity and characteristic profile from the 1960s onward.
