Bobbin tape lace is a type of bobbin lace where the design is formed of one or more tapes curved to create an attractive pattern. The tapes are made at the same time as the rest of the lace, by hand, using bobbin lace techniques, and are joined to each other (or to themselves) using a crochet hook.
This should be distinguished from mixed tape lace, which is made using an existing straight tape, often machine-made.

Bobbin tape lace is sometimes categorized as a form of part lace, meaning individual motifs are made separately and then joined together.
