Bob Abrahamian (July 5 1978 – January 31 2016) was an American DJ, music archivist, and writer noted for his work documenting and promoting Chicago house music.
Overview
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Abrahamian became actively involved in the city’s house music scene in the early 2000s. He curated a widely respected blog, The Deep House Blog, through which he published rare recordings, historical essays, and interviews with prominent house musicians. Abrahamian also performed as a DJ at clubs and events, specializing in deep and soulful house styles. In 2014, he released a compilation titled The Soulful Sounds of Chicago, featuring previously unreleased tracks from the 1980s and 1990s. His contributions helped preserve the legacy of early house producers and introduced the genre to new audiences. Abrahamian died of a brain aneurysm in 2016 at the age of 37.
