Božidar Vidoeski (1918 – 1998) was a Macedonian linguist and academic who specialized in the study of the Macedonian language, particularly its dialectology and historical development. He held a professorship at the Faculty of Philology of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, where he taught courses on Macedonian phonology, morphology, and dialectal variation.
Vidoeski contributed to several foundational works in Macedonian linguistics, including the compilation of dialectal data for the Macedonian Dialect Atlas and authoring monographs on the phonetic and lexical characteristics of specific regional speech varieties. His research emphasized the systematic description of dialectal boundaries and the interaction between standard Macedonian and its regional forms.
In addition to his scholarly publications, Vidoeski was involved in the development of language education curricula in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, advocating for the inclusion of dialectal awareness in school programs. He participated in academic conferences both within the Balkans and internationally, promoting the study of South Slavic languages.
