Blue Hawk (roller coaster)

Blue Hawk was a steel, stand-up roller coaster located at Six Flags Over Georgia near Atlanta. Originally named Ninja when it opened in 1989, it was a product of the Japanese company TOGO. The ride was notoriously rough and uncomfortable, earning it a reputation as one of the worst roller coasters in the Six Flags chain.

The ride's layout consisted of a series of inversions, including two vertical loops, a corkscrew, and a sidewinder. Riders stood throughout the duration of the ride, adding to the intensity and discomfort.

In 2016, Six Flags announced that Ninja would be closed and re-themed. The coaster received extensive modifications, including new trains and a fresh coat of blue paint. It reopened in 2017 as Blue Hawk.

Despite the refurbishment, the ride's inherent roughness remained a significant issue for many riders. Ultimately, Blue Hawk was permanently closed on September 3, 2023. Six Flags Over Georgia cited operational challenges and declining ridership as the reasons for its removal. The future of the ride's location is currently unknown.
