Bloodsuckers (Vamps album)

Bloodsuckers is the third studio album by the Japanese rock duo Vamps, consisting of vocalist Hyde (L'Arc-en-Ciel) and guitarist K.A.Z (Oblivion Dust). The album was initially released in Japan on October 29, 2014, through Vamps' independent label, VAMPROSE. An international edition, featuring slightly different artwork and a bonus track, was subsequently released on March 27, 2015, via Spinefarm Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, marking a significant push for the band's global presence.

The album showcases Vamps' signature blend of hard rock and alternative rock, incorporating heavy guitar riffs, industrial elements, and Hyde's distinctive vocal style. It features a mix of English and Japanese lyrics, reflecting the band's ambition to appeal to a wider international audience. Bloodsuckers includes several previously released singles that were re-recorded or re-arranged for the album, such as "GET AWAY," "THE JOLLY ROGER," and "VAMPIRE'S LOVE." The international version notably included "ZERO" as a bonus track.

Upon its release, Bloodsuckers received attention for its aggressive sound and polished production, further cementing Vamps' reputation as a powerful live act and studio band. The album was supported by extensive touring, including international dates, which helped to expand their fanbase beyond Japan.
