Background

Foaled on 18 August 2006 at Swettenham Stud in Nagambie, Victoria, Black Caviar was bred by Rick Jamieson's Gilgai Farm. Her sire was the Group 1-winning sprinter Bel Esprit, and her dam was the unraced mare Helsinge, a daughter of Desert Sun. She was trained by Peter Moody for her entire career and primarily ridden by Luke Nolen, although Jarrad Noske and Ben Melham also rode her in earlier starts.

Racing Career

Black Caviar's racing career spanned from April 2009 to April 2013. She quickly established herself as a dominant force in sprint racing, captivating audiences with her powerful finishes and remarkable consistency.
