Bjorn Surrao

Bjorn Surrao (born 14 April 1992), also known mononymously as Bjorn or Beon, is an Indian singer-songwriter, music producer, multi-instrumentalist, and actor based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He works across the Tamil film industry and as an independent artist.

Early Life and Education

Surrao was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His father is a professor of literature and his mother a social work professional. He completed his schooling at A. M. M. Matriculation Higher Secondary School and earned a bachelor's degree in commerce from Loyola College, Chennai. He later studied music production in Dubai and completed a master's degree in business administration while pursuing his musical career. A self-taught musician, he began playing piano and guitar at age 11 and started writing songs at age 15. During college, he formed two alternative bands, "Franks Got The Funk" and "Circuit."

Career

Surrao gained widespread recognition for his vocals on the English-language track "Master the Blaster" from the Tamil film Master (2021), starring Vijay. The song reached No. 1 on iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify charts, and accumulated over 32 million views on YouTube. Following this success, he collaborated with Arivu and Jigarthanda Music on "Yenna Sonna," the Chennai Super Kings anthem for Think Music.

As an actor, Surrao drew attention for his supporting comedic role in the Tamil film Doctor (2021). He has since appeared in Beast (2022), Soppana Sundari (2023), Kanguva (2024), Dragon (2025), and has upcoming projects including Jailer 2.
