Bijleveld (Westfalen)

Bijleveld (Westfalen) (also: van Eijk Bijleveld and van Eyk Bijleveld) is a Dutch patrician family.

History

The family originated in Westphalia (Westfalen), Germany, before migrating to the Netherlands. They settled in the cities of The Hague, Wassenaar, Amsterdam, and Leiden. This family is distinct from another patrician Bijleveld family from Rhoon, and the two should not be confused.

Coat of Arms

The coat of arms of the Bijleveld, van Eijk Bijleveld, and van Eyk Bijleveld families is divided into two sections. The upper part features three blue six-pointed stars on a gold field. The lower part is colored green. The crest consists of a blue star between a blue spread. The mantling (tarpaulins) is blue, lined with gold.
