Overview
Ben Arous Governorate (Arabic: ولاية بن عروس) is one of the twenty‑four governorates (provinces) of the Republic of Tunisia. It is situated in the northeastern part of the country, forming part of the greater Tunis metropolitan area. The governorate is named after its capital city, Ben Arous, which lies southeast of the national capital, Tunis. Established on 3 July 1984, Ben Arous was created through the subdivision of the former Tunis Governorate to accommodate rapid urban and industrial growth.
