The binomial name was originally published by G.P. Deshayes in 1835. Synonyms include Bela (Buchozia) gervillei (Deshayes, 1835) and Etallonia gervillei (Deshayes, 1884).
Description The shell of this species is small, with a length of approximately 5 mm and a diameter of about 2 mm.
Distribution This extinct marine species has been found in Eocene strata in Normandy, France.
