Bekeshevo

A Bekeshevo (Бекешево) is a traditional Hungarian outer garment, a type of short, fur-lined coat or jacket. It is characterized by its distinctive toggles and loops (called "mentes") closures down the front, rather than buttons or zippers. Often made of wool or a wool blend, the Bekeshevo is traditionally associated with Hungarian folk costume and is frequently worn for festive occasions, historical re-enactments, and by members of certain cultural groups. It may be decorated with embroidery and braiding. The Bekeshevo is also known by variations of its name such as 'bekecs'.
