Bassel Bawji (born December 26, 1989) is a Lebanese professional basketball player who has primarily competed in the Lebanese Basketball League and represented the Lebanon national basketball team. Standing at approximately 2.03 meters (6 ft 8 in), he typically plays the power forward position.
Bawji spent his early years in the United States and played collegiate basketball for Western Kentucky University (Western Kentucky Hilltoppers) in the NCAA Division I. Following his college career, he transitioned to professional basketball in Lebanon. He has been a member of several prominent clubs within the Lebanese Basketball League, including Champville SC, Mouttahed Tripoli, Byblos Club, and Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut.
On the international stage, Bawji has represented Lebanon in various FIBA-sanctioned tournaments. His contributions to the national team include participation in the FIBA Asia Championship, where he has been recognized for his rebounding and defensive presence. Throughout his career in the Lebanese league, he has been noted for statistical consistency in both scoring and rebounding, earning several individual accolades and being named to All-League teams in multiple seasons.
