Aulon was a locality in ancient Arcadia, Greece. It was situated in the region of Mantinea. Pausanias, in his Description of Greece, mentions Aulon in connection with the Alipherians, stating that they possessed land stretching to Aulon, situated towards the territory of Mantinea. Its exact location is not precisely known, but it was clearly on the border, or near the border, between the territories of Aliphera and Mantinea. The etymology of the name "Aulon" likely relates to a "hollow" or "ravine," descriptive of the geographical features perhaps present in the area. Historical and archaeological information about Aulon is scarce.
