Atlantic is located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, near the Atlantic coast. The CDP lies at an elevation of 36 feet (11 m) and covers a total area of 6.13 square miles (15.9 km²), of which 5.90 square miles (15.3 km²) is land and 0.23 square miles (0.60 km²) is water.
