Ashley Fickling

Ashley Fickling (born c. 2003) is an American collegiate basketball player. A forward, she is known for her collegiate career with the South Carolina Gamecocks, where she was a member of their 2022 NCAA National Championship team, and later with the Kentucky Wildcats.

Early Life and High School Career Born in Summerville, South Carolina, Fickling attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Florence, South Carolina. During her high school career, she was a highly-touted recruit, recognized for her athleticism and defensive capabilities. She committed to play college basketball for the University of South Carolina.

Collegiate Career

  • South Carolina (2021–2023) Fickling joined the South Carolina Gamecocks for the 2021-2022 season. As a freshman, she contributed to a historic season, culminating in the team winning the 2022 NCAA Women's Basketball National Championship. She primarily played a reserve role, gaining valuable experience within one of the nation's top programs. She remained with the Gamecocks for her sophomore season, continuing to develop her skills.

  • Kentucky (2023–Present) Following her sophomore season at South Carolina, Fickling transferred to the University of Kentucky to play for the Wildcats. She joined the team for the 2023-2024 season, seeking increased playing time and a more prominent role.
