Aryam Abreu Delgado (born July 9, 1978) is a Cuban chess player who holds the title of Grandmaster (GM), awarded by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in 2008.
Abreu Delgado has been a prominent figure in Cuban chess, both as a competitive player and as a coach. His competitive career includes participation in numerous international tournaments and national championships. Notable performances include a shared first-place finish at the Villa de Benasque Open in 2004 and strong placements in the Carlos Torre Repetto Memorial tournaments in Mexico. In 2008, he tied for first place in the Capablanca Memorial (Premier group).
In addition to his individual career, Abreu Delgado is highly regarded for his role as a chess trainer and second. He has worked extensively with elite players, most notably serving as a coach for Grandmaster Leinier Domínguez, one of the highest-rated players in the world. He has also been involved in the training programs of the Cuban national chess team.
As of early 2024, Abreu Delgado remains active in the chess community, contributing to the development of the sport through professional coaching and occasional tournament play.
