Arthur Lockwood (cricketer)

Arthur Lockwood (born 16 September 1872, Sutton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire; died 20 December 1957, Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire) was an English cricketer who played for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and represented England in Test cricket.

A right-arm fast bowler known for his pace and stamina, Lockwood was a prominent figure in the Nottinghamshire side from the mid-1890s to the early 1900s. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1903. While primarily a bowler, he was also a capable lower-order batsman.

Lockwood played in 12 Test matches for England between 1897 and 1902, taking 42 wickets. He was particularly successful against Australia. His career was ultimately curtailed by injury.
