Arpachin (Russian: Арпачи́н) is a rural locality (a khutor) in Bagayevsky District, Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is situated on the left bank of the Don River.
Etymology and History
The name "Arpachin" is of Turkic origin. According to the book "Donskoy Ulus of the Golden Horde: Essays on the Toponymy of the Lower Don" by A. A. Krivosheyev, the toponym derives from the Turkic word arpa meaning "barley," reflecting the agricultural production of barley in the region during the Middle Ages.
The settlement was founded in 1757 by the Cossack Ivan Manotskov. Over the following decades, additional Cossack families and officers settled there, and by 1819 the khutor had 79 wooden houses, 9 brick houses, 32 fish-processing plants, 5 brick factories, and 4 windmills.

Arpachin is located at coordinates 47°13′00″N 40°10′50″E, at an elevation of approximately 6–20 meters above sea level. Its population has been recorded as follows:

Economy
The area is part of the "Don Valley" wine region, a protected designation of origin known for its autochthonous grape varieties. As of available records, one winery operates in Arpachin — "Galina Wine Studio" — producing monovarietal wines under the "Vina Arpachina" brand. The Bagayevsky Hydroelectric Complex is under construction near the khutor.

- Church of Adrian and Natalia: A new church under construction since 2003 (architect: Svetlana Begalova), replacing a historic wooden church (the Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, built 1859–1861).
- Arpachin Burial Mounds: Several groups of ancient kurgans (burial mounds) are located near the khutor and are protected as archaeological heritage sites. Excavations in 1975 uncovered Bronze Age artifacts including a bronze cauldron, pottery, iron arrowheads, and fragments of a Sinopean amphora.
