Ariya Daivari (born March 27 1997) is an American professional wrestler of Iranian descent. He is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and performs on the promotion’s secondary programs. Daivari is also known for his tenure with WWE, where he appeared on the NXT, 205 Live, and SmackDown brands, and for his work on the independent wrestling circuit in the United States.
Early life
Ariya Daivari was born in Modesto, California. He is the younger brother of professional wrestler Samir Daivari, who also competed in WWE and the independent scene. The Daivari family is of Iranian heritage, and both brothers have incorporated aspects of their cultural background into their wrestling personas.
Professional wrestling career
Independent circuit (2010–2014)
Daivari began training at the age of 13 under veteran trainer and former WWE talent—Seth Rollins (then known as Tyler Black) and later under the guidance of veteran trainers at the California-based School of Hard Knocks. He made his in‑ring debut in 2010, competing for various independent promotions across the United States, including AAW (American Association of Wrestling), HoP (House of Pain), and Pro Wrestling Fusion. During this period, Daivari held several regional championships, notably the AAW Heritage Championship.
WWE (2014–2021)
Daivari signed a developmental contract with WWE in 2014 and reported to the company's Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. He initially performed on WWE’s developmental brand NXT, where he was featured in singles competition and tag team matches. In 2016, Daivari debuted on the 205 Live brand, which showcased cruiserweight wrestlers, and later appeared on the SmackDown roster.
