Anyang Sports Complex

The Anyang Sports Complex is a multi‑facility athletic complex located in the city of Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The complex primarily comprises two venues:

  • Anyang Stadium – a multi‑purpose outdoor stadium used mainly for association football. The stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 17,500 spectators and features a natural grass playing surface. It was constructed in the mid‑1980s and has hosted K‑league football matches, including home games for the former Anyang LG Cheetahs (now FC Seoul) and other professional and amateur events.

  • Anyang Gymnasium – an indoor arena that accommodates basketball, volleyball, and other indoor sports. The gymnasium seats roughly 5,000 people and has been used for Korean Basketball League (KBL) games as well as concerts and community events.

The complex is owned and operated by the Anyang City Government and serves as a central venue for municipal sports programs, regional tournaments, and cultural events. It is situated near other civic facilities and is accessible via local public transportation, including the Anyang subway stations on Line 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway.

Although the complex is primarily associated with football and basketball, its facilities have also been employed for athletics meets, school competitions, and occasional large‑scale performances. The venue contributes to the promotion of sports and recreation within the Anyang metropolitan area.
