Antonio Cotán

Antonio Cotán Núñez (born 19 September 1995), commonly known as Antonio Cotán, is a Spanish professional footballer who primarily plays as a defensive midfielder. Born in Villamartín, Cádiz, Spain, he is recognized for his contributions in the central midfield role, focusing on ball recovery and distribution.

Cotán commenced his football journey in the youth academy of Real Betis, a notable club in Andalusia. He advanced through their youth system, eventually making his senior debut with Betis B, the club's reserve team, competing in the Segunda División B. He remained a key player for Betis B for several seasons, gaining considerable experience at that level.

Following his tenure with Real Betis's reserve side, Cotán transferred to Sevilla Atlético, the reserve team of local rivals Sevilla FC, in 2017, where he continued to play in the Segunda División B. His career subsequently saw him play for a number of other Spanish clubs, predominantly in the third and fourth tiers of Spanish football. These clubs include UD Almería (2018), Mérida AD (2019–2020), CD El Ejido (2020–2022), CD Utrera (2022–2023), and CD Estepona (2023–present). Over the years, Cotán has accumulated extensive experience in competitive professional football across various teams in the Spanish lower divisions.
