Anthony Telford (born August 16, 1965) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He appeared in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins during the 1994 and 1995 seasons.
Early life and education
Telford was born in San Diego, California. He attended San Diego State University, where he played college baseball for the San Diego State Aztecs.
Professional playing career
- Minor leagues – After being selected in the 1986 MLB amateur draft, Telford spent several seasons in the Twins’ farm system, pitching for teams such as the Visalia Oaks, Orlando Twins, and Portland Beavers.
- Major League debut – He made his MLB debut on April 28, 1994, for the Minnesota Twins. Over the course of his two‑year MLB tenure, Telford appeared in 30 games (including three starts), compiling a win–loss record of 1–2, an earned run average (ERA) of 5.39, and 22 strikeouts.
