Anthony Janiec

Anthony Janiec (1984–2022) was a French professional racing driver who specialized in truck racing. He was a prominent competitor in both national and international circuits, recognized for his contributions to the discipline over two decades.

Janiec began his motorsport career in single-seater racing, competing in the French Formula 3 Championship and the Formula 3 Euro Series during the mid-2000s. He eventually transitioned to truck racing, where he achieved his most significant professional success. He became a leading figure in the French Truck Racing Championship, winning the title three times consecutively in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

On the international stage, Janiec was a regular participant in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC). Throughout his career in the ETRC, he drove for teams such as Team 14 and Lion Truck Racing, securing multiple race victories and podium finishes. He was noted for his competitive consistency and his role in promoting the visibility of truck racing in Europe.

Janiec died on July 31, 2022, at the age of 37, following a cardiac arrest. His death was widely reported within the motorsport community, drawing tributes from the FIA and various racing organizations.
