- Three Kingdoms Period (c. 4th-7th century CE): The area was known as Naehyegun (내혜군) under the Goguryeo Kingdom.
- Unified Silla Dynasty (668–935 CE): Following the unification of the peninsula, it was renamed Jukjun (죽주) and later Anseong-gun (안성군) in 757 CE.
- Goryeo Dynasty (918–1392 CE): Anseong developed into a significant commercial center, benefiting from its location at a crossroads of transportation routes. It was then designated Anseong-hyeon (안성현).
