Anne Karin Torheim (born July 14, 1950) is a Norwegian poet, novelist, and writer. She writes primarily in Nynorsk, one of the two official written standards of the Norwegian language.
Born in Eid in the Nordfjord district of Norway, Torheim currently resides in Bergen. She made her literary debut in 1990 with the poetry collection Tidlaus lita (Timeless Little One). Since her debut, she has published several volumes of poetry and prose, primarily through the Norwegian publishing house Det Norske Samlaget.
Her bibliography includes poetry collections such as Speglingar i eit burtvendt andlet (Reflections in a Turned-Away Face, 1993) and Huset der sanninga bur (The House Where Truth Lives, 1998). In addition to poetry, she has authored novels, including Kven er redd for tida? (Who is Afraid of Time?, 2001) and Utsikt (View, 2005).
Torheim's work is often noted for its existential themes, focusing on human perception, memory, and the relationship between the individual and their surroundings. She is a member of the Norwegian Authors' Union (Den norske Forfatterforening). Her contributions to Norwegian literature are documented in national biographical and literary records, such as the Store norske leksikon.
