Andrea Tovar (born August 20, 1993) is a Colombian model, television personality, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Colombia 2015. She represented Colombia at Miss Universe 2016, where she finished as 2nd Runner-Up.
Early Life and Education
Andrea Tovar was born in Quibdó, Chocó, Colombia. Her father, Antonio Tovar, is a medical technologist, and her mother, Xenia Rosa Velásquez, is a business manager. She is the second of three children. Tovar pursued studies in Industrial Design at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá, Colombia. Before entering pageantry, she gained experience as a model and worked on various fashion projects.

Tovar began her pageant career by representing her home department, Chocó, at the national level. She was crowned Miss Chocó 2015, earning her the right to compete in Miss Colombia.

Andrea Tovar competed as Miss Chocó in the 63rd edition of the Miss Colombia pageant, held on November 16, 2015, in Cartagena, Colombia. She ultimately won the coveted title of Miss Colombia, becoming the second woman from the department of Chocó to achieve this honor. During the competition, she also won special awards including "Miss Physique" (a fitness award) and "Miss Elegance."
Miss Universe 2016
As Miss Colombia 2015, Tovar represented her country at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant, held on January 29, 2017, in Manila, Philippines. She was considered a strong contender throughout the competition and successfully advanced through various rounds. In the grand finale, Tovar placed as the 2nd Runner-Up, behind Miss France Iris Mittenaere (who won) and Miss Haiti Raquel Pélissier (1st Runner-Up). Her performance marked Colombia's third consecutive year in the Top 3 at Miss Universe.
