Anatoly Bondarenko (born 15 March 1950) is a Russian chess problem composer and author. He is recognized for creating a large number of chess problems, particularly in the genres of direct mates, helpmates, and selfmates. Bondarenko’s work has been featured in numerous chess problem collections and magazines, and he has received several awards from the World Federation for Chess Composition (WFCC). He has also contributed to the editorial boards of various problem‑themed publications in the former Soviet Union and Russia. His compositions are noted for their originality, economical use of material, and thematic depth.
