Anand–Milind

Anand–Milind are an Indian music composer duo consisting of brothers Anand Shrivastav (born 1964) and Milind Shrivastav (born 1965). They are primarily known for their contributions to Hindi-language film soundtracks, especially during the late 1980s and 1990s. The duo is the son of veteran music director Chitragupta, who was active in Indian cinema from the 1940s through the 1980s.

  • Notable works: The duo composed music for numerous successful films, including Saajan (1991), Dil (1990), Beta (1992), Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), Raja (1995), and Coolie No. 1 (1995). Musical style and influence
Anand–Milind's compositions often feature prominent use of synthesizers, melodic hooks, and romantic ballads, contributing to the popularization of the "melodic pop" style in Hindi cinema during the early 1990s. They have been credited with launching the careers of several playback singers, most notably Kumar Sanu, whose voice became closely associated with their music.

Later activity
Following a decline in mainstream demand for their style in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the duo's output diminished. They have continued to work on occasional film projects, television serials, and regional language films, although with reduced frequency compared to their peak period.

Legacy
Anand–Milind are regarded as one of the most successful composer duos in Bollywood history, having contributed to the soundtracks of over 150 films. Their work remains popular among audiences who associate it with the Bollywood musical aesthetics of the late 20th century.
