Anand Abhyankar (10 August 1963 – 25 March 2012) was an Indian actor prominent in Marathi theatre, television, and film. Born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, he completed his education at the University of Pune and began his career as a theatre performer in the late 1980s, later transitioning to screen roles.
Career
Abhyankar gained recognition for his versatile performances in Marathi cinema, notably in films such as Mogra Phulaalaa (1994), Shuruaat (2006), and Maan Sanchet (2007). He also appeared in several Hindi-language projects, including a supporting role in Rang De Basanti (2006). On television, he was known for the popular Marathi serial Shree Laxmi Narayan and participated in reality shows like Bigg Boss Marathi (2018), posthumously broadcast as archival footage.
Personal life
He was married to actress Manisha Joshi, with whom he had two children. The family resided in Mumbai.
Death
On 25 March 2012, Abhyankar died in a road accident near the Mumbai–Pune Expressway. He was 48 years old at the time of his death.
