Amurensin is a flavonol, a subclass of flavonoids (polyphenolic compounds widely distributed in plants). It is the tert-amyl alcohol derivative of kaempferol 7-O-glucoside.

Natural Occurrence Amurensin is found in the leaves of Phellodendron amurense Ruprecht (Amur cork tree), a plant native to East Asia. It was first isolated and characterized in 1953 by Masao Hasegawa and Teruo Shirato.
Related Compounds A derivative, 6″′-O-acetyl amurensin, has been identified in the leaves of Phellodendron japonicum.
Note on Nomenclature The term "amurensin" can also refer to a group of stilbenoid compounds (resveratrol oligomers) found in Vitis amurensis (Amur grape), including Amurensin A, B, C, and D. These are distinct from the flavonol amurensin described above.
