American Underdog is the fourth studio album by American country music artist Rhett Akins. It was released on November 4, 2008, by MCA Nashville. The album produced two singles: "Kiss You in the Morning" and "That Ain't My Truck," neither of which charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The album itself did not chart on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
The album marked Akins' return to recording after a hiatus focused primarily on songwriting for other artists. Its sound leans more towards traditional country than some of his earlier pop-country influenced work.
