Amandus Theodor Schibsted (5 May 1849 – 7 May 1913) was a Norwegian journalist, newspaper proprietor, and chief editor of Aftenposten, one of Norway's leading daily newspapers.
Born in Oslo (then Christiania), he began working as a journalist at Aftenposten in 1871. Upon the death of his father, Christian Schibsted — the newspaper's founder — in 1879, Amandus inherited both the ownership and the editorial leadership of the paper. Under his stewardship, Aftenposten grew into Norway's most widely circulated conservative daily newspaper. He was noted for building a well-organized, fast, and reliable news service.
Amandus Schibsted was also active in press organizations and played a significant role in the establishment of professional press institutions in Norway.
He died on 7 May 1913, two days after his 64th birthday. Following his death, his wife, Susane Adolphine Cathrine Schibsted (1849–1933), took over ownership of the newspaper. He is buried at Vår Frelsers gravlund (Our Saviour's Cemetery) in Oslo.
