Allan Whitwell

Allan Whitwell (born 5 February 1954) is a British rower who competed in the Olympic Games and World Championships. He is best known for winning a silver medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow as part of the men's coxed four. Whitwell also secured multiple medals at the World Rowing Championships during his career.

Early Life and Rowing Beginnings

Born in York, England, Whitwell began his rowing career early, developing his skills at a local level before progressing to national and international competitions. His talent for rowing quickly became apparent, leading him to represent Great Britain on the world stage.

International Career

Whitwell's international career spanned the late 1970s and early 1980s, a period where he consistently medaled at major championships.
