Ali Wentworth

Ali Wentworth (born March 22, 1965) is an American actress, comedian, and author. She is best known for her recurring television roles, her work as a writer and performer on comedy series, and her memoir published in 2022.

Early life and education
Ali Wentworth was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Karen (née Hiller) and Charles Wentworth. She attended the private preparatory school Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut, and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College, where she studied theater.

Career
Wentworth began her professional career in the mid‑1990s as a writer for The Late Show with David Letterman. She subsequently wrote and performed for a number of sketch‑comedy programs, including MADtv and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

From 2008 to 2013, Wentworth appeared in a recurring role as "The Woman" on the NBC comedy series 30 Rock, and she later made guest appearances on series such as The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Parks and Recreation. In 2015 she co‑hosted the Tony Awards ceremony with Neil Patrick Harris.

In addition to her television work, Wentworth has acted in feature films, including supporting roles in The Minus Man (1999) and The Invention of Lying (2009). She has also performed on stage, notably in the Broadway play The Little Dog Laughed (2006).

Wentworth published a memoir, Ali: A Memoir (2022), in which she recounts her upbringing, career, and personal life.

Personal life
In 2001, Wentworth married journalist and former White House communications director George Stephanopoulos. The couple has two children: daughter Serena (born 2000) and son Jonah (born 2005). The family resides in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
