Alfonso Lastras Ramírez (1924–1999) was a Mexican lawyer, politician, and academic administrator who served as the Rector of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP) from 1986 to 1995. He is recognized as a significant figure in the civic and educational history of the state of San Luis Potosí.
Born in the city of San Luis Potosí, Lastras Ramírez pursued a career in jurisprudence and held various public offices throughout his life. During his tenure as Rector of UASLP, he oversaw a period of academic expansion and administrative restructuring. His leadership is often cited in the context of the university's institutional development during the late 20th century. In addition to his academic role, he served as a federal deputy in the Mexican Congress representing the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).
Lastras Ramírez is widely known as the namesake of the Estadio Alfonso Lastras Ramírez, a major multi-purpose stadium in San Luis Potosí. The stadium, which opened in 1999 shortly before his death, serves as the home ground for the professional football club Atlético San Luis. The facility was named in his honor to acknowledge his contributions to the local community and his efforts in promoting regional infrastructure and sports.
