Alexandra Subțirică

Alexandra Subțirică (born December 8, 1987), also known by her married name Alexandra Subțirică-Iovănescu, is a Romanian professional handball player who plays as a pivot. She has competed extensively in the Romanian Liga Națională and has represented the Romania women's national handball team in international competitions.

Subțirică has played for several notable Romanian clubs throughout her career, including CSM București, SCM Gloria Buzău, and Rapid București. As a pivot (line player), her role involves both offensive positioning on the six-meter line and defensive contributions. Her professional experience includes participation in European club tournaments such as the EHF European League and the former EHF Cup.

In addition to her club career, Subțirică has been called up to the Romanian national team for various qualification cycles and international friendly tournaments. She comes from an athletic background, being the daughter of Victor Subțirică, a former Romanian international handball player.
