Alexander Sample is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who has served as the bishop of the Diocese of Marquette in Michigan since 2005.
Overview
Born on June 22, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan, Alexander Joseph Sample entered the priesthood after completing his seminary formation. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 6, 1987. Following several pastoral assignments in the Detroit area, Sample was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI as the bishop of the Diocese of Marquette on June 23, 2005, and was installed on September 19, 2005.
