Alex Peroni

Alex Peroni (born 23 September 1997) is an Australian professional racing driver. He has competed in multiple international single‑seater series, including the FIA Formula 2 Championship, GP3 Series, and various Formula Renault 2.0 championships.

Early life and karting
Peroni was born in Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia. He began his motorsport career in karting, competing in national Australian championships before moving to European competition in his mid‑teens.

Junior formula career
In 2014, Peroni entered the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup with the Tech 1 Racing team, achieving several points‑scoring finishes. The following year he continued in the Eurocup and also contested the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC (Northern European Cup), where he recorded his first podium finish.

GP3 Series
Peroni stepped up to the GP3 Series in 2016, driving for Status Grand Prix. Over two seasons (2016–2017) he secured eight points finishes, with a best race result of fifth place at the 2016 Spa‑Francorchamps round.

FIA Formula 2 Championship
In 2019 Peroni made his debut in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Campos Racing. He participated in the full season, scoring points at the Circuit de Barcelona‑Catalunya and the Bahrain International Circuit. In 2020 he returned to the series with Van Amersfoort Racing, competing in selected rounds and achieving a best finish of seventh place at the Monza round. As of the end of the 2022 season, Peroni has not secured a full‑time seat for the upcoming FIA Formula 2 campaign.

Other racing activities
Beyond the primary single‑seater series, Peroni has taken part in endurance and sports car events, including the 2021 Bathurst 12 Hour race in the GT3 class. He has also been involved in driver development programs with Australian motorsport organisations.

Personal life
Peroni holds dual Australian‑Italian citizenship. Outside of racing, he has expressed interest in automotive engineering and has participated in promotional activities for Australian motorsport events.
